With the amount of people that I know that have been "hacked", you would think computers are the least secure things on earth. It's actually quite the opposite. Knock on wood, I have never been hacked.

More times than not the human gives the hacker everything they need. I recently saw a post that was shared that was a questionnaire of questions that looked an awful lot like security questions you would get if you were resetting your password. I see people share things all the time that look like the modern day equivalent of chain mail. Post this and if your friends really care about you they'll comment or they'll repost it. Some bullshit like that. This is the way hacking is done. This is called phishing. The hacker is phishing for information. I give a lot of personal details away on Facebook and other platforms. But it is rarely the exact number or exactly what happened. Don't share this stuff. At least your email address password should be completely unique from any other password that you use. Every login system I know of lets you reset your password by sending you a email with a link that you have to click to reset your password. If they can get in your email, they have everything!

I use like four different passwords. One for my Apple account which is not re-used at all and follows a completely different pattern. This keeps my email secure etc. because I use iCloud through Apple for email. A completely unique password for Facebook that is like 20 characters long. Then I have my secure password for banking information, etc. And then the password I use everywhere else. A security person would tell you this is a bad idea, but it's always worked for me.
